Our organization is volunteer based. Our volunteers are community members that love the sport and their dedication is next to none. Board members must be permanent Bolingbrook residents as our youth program is part of the Bolingbrook Park Districts Athletic Council. All committees are appointed by the board and consists of community members that have been involved in bringing cricket to this Village over 10 years ago. Sharing the vision of promoting cricket and serving the community is what keeps this organization alive.
Our youth program is the foundation the BPL stood on. We wanted a home for our kids when they grow up, hence the BPL was created just for that reason. Catering to the demand of the community the BPL has over 150 kids in our youth league that come from all walks of life. We only charge $20 for the entire season and supply coaches, equipment, water and a positive environment to all our participants.
The Bolingbrook cricket fraternity has been promoting cricket for many years. What started as friends playing in driveways and tennis courts leads us to the BPL today. We are very proud to have supported Chicago 2016 for the Olympic bid by organizing a cricket match between India and Pakistan teams. The event was supported by the City of Chicago, Mayor Daley, Vice Mayor Bernie Stone, Consul General of Pakistan and India, Mayor of Bolingbrook, Bolingbrook Park District and obviously the Olympic Committee.
We thank the leadership in our community for mentoring us through the years and for the foundation on which we stand proudly.
